WW I Officers kukri

WWI Officer khukuri:
It is my recently built master piece true art of kukri, WW 1 Officers khukuriI, now believe these to have been made for either Gurkha or British Gurkha Officers. The WW1 Goorkhali has a blade length of 33cm and a belly depth of 5cm. The kukris blades comes with mirror finish (high buffing). It comes with a military scabbard, enclosed tinder pouch and military style chakmak & karda utility knives and kukri weight is 600 Grams only. Very handy to use and carry. The both kukri and scabbard’s weight is 800grams. The hilt is of dark horn and a broad oval cross section. The blade is just under 4cms at the grip and broadens to just under 6cms at the belly. WW1 Officers Kukri with Double armory crescent moon marked blade. A good quality example with a heavy and very strong steel blade shaped and chiseled with nice contoured chamfers. The upper section of the blade is chiseled with elegant decoration along the spine, the notch finely shaped below a stylized armorers marking of the twin 'eye-lash’. The spine is 8mm thick with a medial ridge running through to the tip. Its faces show the Dui Chira fullers (two fullers) and various engravings below the spine.

Material Used: Highly Graded Carbon Steel (car & jeep, truck suspense leaf spring, 5160) for blade. Water Buffalo lather for Scabbard (outside), buffalo horn for the handle, Pinewood for Scabbard (inside), White Metal and “Laha” (Traditional Nepalese glue which works for joining).

Hardness of steel: spine=22-25 RC, belly=45-46 RC, edge=54-55 RC

* Scabbard:  Cotton Covered in buffalo leather. The scabbard has double frogs which are leather loops used to attach to the belt. No Kardachak are included with this kukri.
Since all my khukuris are hand-made, variances in size, weight wood color etc may well occur. This kukri is a very functional for fighting piece.
